Nicole is a graduate of Penn State University with a Master of Arts in Applied Clinical Psychology. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Cornerstone University. Nicole has experience working with teens and young adults, along with adults in substance use and mental health treatment. Nicole’s pursuit of counseling was shaped by her own experiences, where she realized the essentiality of empathy, compassion, and connection for flourishing and true healing when life feels devastating and bewildering. Nicole takes joy in providing a safe space for people to heal, grow, and feel empowered to reclaim and rewrite their unique stories. She believes that true healing takes place when provided an opportunity to sow seeds of hope, values identification, and meaning-making, reaping the reward of a connected and purposeful life. Nicole uses an eclectic and person-centered therapeutic approach to tailor the therapy space to meet each clients specific needs, though she primarily utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), along with mindfulness-based approaches. Additionally, Nicole recognizes the strong connection between mind and body and offers a holistic approach to counseling, prioritizing the whole person (physical, spiritual, mental, emotional, and social) to enhance ones’ well-being to a true state of thriving. She enjoys working with anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, relationship issues, and identity development.
When she’s not working, you can find Nicole enjoying time outdoors with her husband, daughter, and chocolate lab named June (after June Carter Cash!). She loves fishing, hiking, gardening, playing pickleball, and watching sunrises and sunsets. Nicole also has a passion for homesteading, baking, craft coffee, chocolate, and good food. Given her love for people, Nicole is most satisfied in these experiences when she is doing them alongside her family and friends.
