Macy Potter, LLMSW

  • Grandville,

(616) 222-0631 ext. 711

Macy believes in creating a therapeutic relationship that is genuine and relatable, where people are comfortable expressing themselves authentically, embracing both moments of reflection and humor.
Macy is particularly passionate about supporting individuals as they navigate significant life changes, complex relationship dynamics, and periods of uncertainty about who they are or what they want. Macy partners with individuals who want to be further seen and understood in their relationships, who seek to overcome cycles of conflict in their relationships, who feel lonely within their communities, and who want to build stronger relationships.
Macy received her Master of Social Work degree at Western Michigan University. Macy’s academic foundation includes a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Michigan State University, complemented by several years of valuable practical experience working with youth and young adults both here in the U.S. and internationally.
Her previous roles working with refugee youth and in international child development settings have deeply informed her counseling approach, fostering a commitment to cultural humility, the development of deep client relationships, and the provision of flexible, person-centered care tailored to individual needs. Macy also provides practical skills for when navigating heightened emotions using Dialectical Behavior Therapy. When seeking to understand a situation, Macy often utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to gain understanding and build a sense of empowerment over thoughts and situations.
