Tara Poore is a Licensed Master Social Worker who provides a warm, collaborative, and nonjudgmental space where clients can feel heard and supported. She believes that everyone has strengths and the capacity for growth, and she works alongside clients to help them gain insight, navigate life’s challenges, and move toward a more balanced and peaceful life.
Tara earned her Bachelor’s degree from Hope College and her Master’s degree in Social Work from Grand Valley State University. She has worked with children, adolescents, and adults, and has experience supporting individuals through a variety of life experiences and challenges. Her areas of focus include complex trauma, domestic violence, sexual abuse, anxiety, depression, attachment, foster care, and adoption.
Tara uses a flexible, individualized approach, drawing from evidence-based practices such as Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and trauma-informed interventions. She is passionate about helping clients feel empowered, build resilience, and create meaningful change in their lives.
Outside of her work, Tara enjoys reading, traveling, spending time outdoors and being with friends and family. She is a proud mom of two and can often be found cheering on her children at various sporting events.
