“Shame dies when stories are told in safe places.” This quote, shared by Ann Voskamp, deeply resonates with Julie and serves as a cornerstone of her therapeutic approach. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Julie is dedicated to creating a space that fosters safety, trust, and compassion—where each client’s unique story can be shared without fear or judgment. Her goal is to ensure that everyone she works with feels accepted, respected, and truly heard.
Julie earned her Master’s degree in Social Work from Case Western Reserve University and completed her undergraduate studies at Miami University. She brings extensive training and clinical experience in working with individuals who are navigating the effects of trauma and struggling to move forward. Whether clients are processing past traumatic events, coping with the stressors of daily life, managing grief, or working through complex relationship challenges, Julie offers a grounded and supportive presence to help them heal.
Her primary modality is EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) Therapy, an evidence-based approach that helps the brain naturally process and resolve distressing memories and psychological pain. In addition to EMDR, Julie uses a holistic and collaborative therapeutic style, tailoring treatment to meet each individual’s needs, goals, and lived experiences in order to promote lasting transformation.
Above all, Julie is deeply passionate about supporting those who have faced dark or difficult moments in life. She is humbled to walk alongside her clients in their journey toward healing, peace, and personal growth. She welcomes anyone ready to take the next step toward a healthier, more empowered life to reach out by phone or email.
Julie and her husband share their home with two lovable Shelties, Wesley and Ru Paul. Originally from Cincinnati, Ohio, Julie spent a decade living in Grand Rapids, Michigan after graduate school before returning home to be closer to family. She’s passionate about spending time with loved ones, exploring new places, and finding moments of calm through meditation. In her free time, Julie enjoys woodworking—a creative outlet that balances her love for precision and hands-on projects.
