Ellie Blackburn, LLMSW
- Grandville,
(616) 222-0631 ext. 715
Ellie earned her Master of Social Work from Spring Arbor University and holds a bachelor’s degree in Psychology with an emphasis in Clinical Counseling from Cornerstone University. She has experience working with teens and young adults and is passionate about supporting adolescents and emerging adults as they navigate life’s transitions, relationships, and challenges. Ellie believes that every person’s experiences, relationships, and story shape who they are. She enjoys helping clients untangle difficult thoughts and emotions, gain insight into themselves, and discover practical ways to move toward the life they want to build. Her goal is to provide a steady, encouraging presence as clients navigate both everyday stressors and significant life transitions.
Ellie finds it especially fulfilling to walk alongside clients as they discover their strengths, build confidence, and move toward lives that align with their values. She is honored to support each person with compassion, curiosity, and hope as they pursue lasting growth and meaningful change. She primarily incorporates Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and mindfulness-based approaches, tailoring therapy to each client’s unique needs and goals. She enjoys working with anxiety, OCD, relationship concerns, life transitions, grief, and identity development.
Outside of work, you’ll likely find Ellie searching for a new coffee shop to try, at a Pure Barre class or enjoying dinner at a local restaurant with her husband. They love exploring Michigan’s beach towns, spending time on the water and love exploring Michigan in every season. They’re also proud cat parents to Fitz (yes, named after the Edmund Fitzgerald!).
