Brian Highstreet, LPC

  • Holland,

(616)222-0631 ext. 722

Brian earned his MA in Counseling Psychology from Western Michigan University in 2010. Brian spent eight years working as a mental health clinician with two different CMH agencies, working with children, adolescents, and families. In this role, Brian helped individuals and families with significant mental and emotional issues develop positive skills and strategies to help achieve positive goals and objectives. Brian enjoys helping others identify problematic thinking and behavioral patterns; and develop ways of catching, challenging and changing those patterns to help them live more joyful and meaningful lives. This type of therapy is called Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and helps people learn and utilize a super power of changing one’s mindset that allows for a greater sense of self worth and positive connection to others. Brian feel fulfilled as a counselor when after a session a new client says “that wasn’t too bad,” and “yes, I’d like to schedule another appointment.”

In sessions, Brian is REAL. He does not act fake or veer from who he is as a human being. Brian is married and has an 11 year old boy. Brian loves spending time with his family, especially if it is outside, preferably on some body of water. Oh, and he tends to be a bit of a Detroit sports nut.
