Do great clinical work. Be part of something good.

Alliance Counseling Group is growing, and we're looking for excellent therapists who want more than simply a place to see clients.

We want clinicians who care deeply about people. Who are curious about what works. Who follow through. Who want autonomy in their clinical work while also being part of a team that takes care of one another.

At Alliance, our purpose is simple:

Hope is real. Change for good is possible.

That's what we want our clients to experience, what we want our communities to experience, and what we're trying to build together as an organization.

If you're a skilled, ethical therapist looking for a practice where clinical excellence, relationships, and organizational health all matter, we'd love to meet you.

We're Growing

Child & Play Therapists

1–2 priority openings

We consistently have more families looking for skilled child therapists than we have clinicians available to serve them.

We're especially interested in clinicians with experience, training, or a strong interest in:

  • Play therapy
  • Children ages 5+
  • Parent and family work
  • Childhood anxiety and emotional regulation
  • Behavioral concerns
  • Life transitions
  • Trauma

If working with children and families is the kind of clinical work that energizes you, there are families in our community looking for you.

Couples Therapists

1–2 priority openings

Great couples therapy can change far more than a relationship. It can change families, homes, and generations.

We're looking for clinicians who genuinely enjoy relational work and helping couples recognize patterns, repair injuries, communicate differently, and build stronger connections.

Training or experience in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Gottman Method, or another evidence-informed relational model is especially valuable.

If couples therapy isn't just something you're willing to do, but work you really enjoy doing, we'd especially like to talk.

Teen & Adult Therapists

Ongoing openings as we grow

We're also expanding our team of excellent clinicians serving adolescents and adults throughout West Michigan.

You don't need an ultra-specific niche to belong here.

Maybe your clinical interests include anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, OCD, relationships, grief, life transitions, women's mental health, men's mental health, neurodivergence, or something else entirely.

Specialties are valuable.

Great therapists matter even more.

We're looking for clinicians who are thoughtful, relational, dependable, clinically curious, and committed to providing excellent care.

Psychological Testing & Evaluation

LLP or LP — Priority Opening

We're expanding our ability to help clients and families get clear answers when therapy alone isn't enough to understand what’s going on.

We're looking for a Limited Licensed Psychologist (LLP) or Licensed Psychologist (LP) who enjoys psychological assessment and wants to help build a high-quality testing and evaluation service within a collaborative mental health practice.

We're especially interested in a psychologist who values thoughtful, evidence-based assessment—someone who can integrate testing data, clinical interviews, history, and the whole person into evaluations that are clinically useful, understandable, and actionable.

Depending on your training and areas of competence, opportunities may include psychological and diagnostic evaluations for children, adolescents, and/or adults, as well as collaboration with therapists, prescribers, families, schools, physicians, and other referral partners.

At Alliance, we believe an evaluation should do more than produce a diagnosis or a report.

It should help someone better understand themselves and know what to do next.

This role may be a great fit if you:

  • Are an LLP or LP licensed in Michigan
  • Have training and experience in psychological testing and assessment
  • Value rigorous, evidence-based clinical thinking
  • Enjoy the investigative and integrative nature of evaluation
  • Write reports that are clinically sophisticated but accessible to clients and families
  • Appreciate collaboration with therapists, prescribers, and other professionals
  • Want strong administrative and operational support around your clinical work
  • Care about providing an evaluation experience that feels compassionate and human—not impersonal or transactional

We're particularly excited about the opportunity to develop psychological testing as an increasingly integrated part of Alliance's continuum of care.

If assessment is work that makes you curious—if you enjoy taking a complicated clinical picture and helping someone finally make sense of it—we'd love to talk with you.

What Makes Alliance Different?

There are plenty of places where a therapist can rent an office, receive referrals, or join a list of clinicians on a website.

We're trying to build something more connected than that.

Alliance combines the autonomy and flexibility clinicians value in private practice with the community, systems, infrastructure, and professional standards of a strong organization.

Our goal is to provide relationally accessible, responsive, whole-person mental health care and to become the kind of organization that clients, clinicians, and community partners know and trust.

That requires more than good marketing.

It requires a great clinical culture.

The Values Behind How We Work

Our core values aren't meant to be words hanging on a wall. They're expectations for how we treat clients, colleagues, referral partners, and the work itself.

Excellent Clinicians Need Excellent Support

You became a therapist to practice therapy—not to spend your time chasing claims, answering intake calls, credentialing with insurance companies, or wondering where next month's clients will come from.

Our team supports:

  • Referrals and intake coordination
  • Billing and insurance processing
  • Scheduling
  • Credentialing
  • Marketing
  • Practice operations
  • Fully equipped clinical offices
  • Clinical consultation and leadership support
You bring your clinical expertise. We build infrastructure around it.

We want your energy going toward your clients, your professional growth, and the rest of your life.

Consistent Referrals. Strong Community Relationships.

Alliance has spent years earning trust throughout West Michigan.

We have relationships with physicians, schools, hospitals, community organizations, other therapists, insurance networks, and families throughout the region.

Our administrative and marketing teams continually work to make it easier for people looking for care to find the right clinician.

That means therapists joining Alliance aren't expected to build a practice from scratch.

We work hard to help good therapists stay busy doing good therapy.

And when another professional refers someone to Alliance, we want them to know that person will be treated with responsiveness, professionalism, and care.

Autonomy Without Isolation

We believe therapists deserve meaningful clinical autonomy.

We also believe autonomy and isolation aren't the same thing.

Alliance is a multidisciplinary community of therapists and mental health professionals who consult, collaborate, learn from one another, support each other—and enjoy working together.

You can develop a caseload around your particular clinical strengths while still being part of something larger than your individual practice.

Independent doesn't have to mean alone.

You Might Thrive Here If...

You:

  • Care deeply about clinical quality
  • Treat people with warmth, dignity, and respect
  • Are curious and willing to keep learning
  • Value evidence over certainty
  • Follow through when you say you'll do something
  • Take ownership rather than waiting for someone else to solve every problem
  • Can advocate for yourself and others respectfully
  • Value professionalism without wanting a sterile corporate culture
  • Want autonomy without isolation
  • Enjoy being part of a collaborative clinical community
  • Want to spend more of your time practicing therapy and less time running a business

We take clinical care seriously.

We care about doing things well.

We also believe a healthy workplace should have relationships, humor, generosity, flexibility, and humanity.

We're not looking simply to add therapists to a roster.

We're looking for people who will make Alliance better by being part of it.

Who We Hire

We consider clinicians from several professional backgrounds, including:

LP/ LLP
LMFT / LL-MFT
LPC / LLPC
LMSW / LLMSW

and other appropriately licensed Michigan behavioral health professionals.

Both experienced clinicians and strong early-career therapists may be considered depending on the position, training, supervision needs, and clinical fit.

We hire people, not just specialties.

Clinical competence matters.

Character matters.

Curiosity matters.

How you treat clients matters.

And how you contribute to the people around you matters too.
